stigma (noun; plural stigmata; Greek stigma, mark): 1. A spiracle or breathing pore.

2. (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) In Acari, a sclerite surrounding a spiracle.

3. (Arthropoda: Insecta) a. A colored wing spot
