saddle (noun; Anglo-Saxon sadol): 1. (Annelida: Oligochaeta) In Lumbricidae, the clitellum incomplete ventrally, extending from the back to below the lateral setae.

2. (Arthropoda: Insecta) In Diptera, a large sclerite on the dorsal and lateral surfaces of the 10th abdominal segment of larval Culicidae and some other nematocerous insects
