maxillulae (noun, plural; singular maxillula; Latin diminutive maxilla, jaw): 1. (Arthropoda: Crustacea) The first maxillae having more than one pair of maxillae; paragnath.

2. (Arthropoda: Insecta) In primitive forms, the non-functional appendages between mandibles and first maxillae
