cornicle (noun; Latin diminutive cornu, horn): (Arthropoda: Insecta) In aphids, one of a pair of movable, flap covered, pre-caudal tubes projecting from the dorsum of segment 6, that expells lipid-filled cells; thought to be a defense mechanism.
