Arthropoda: Crustacea) A group of characters that distinguish primitive eumalacostracan crustaceans: enclosure of the thorax by the carapace, movable stalked eyes, biramous antennules, antennae with scaphocerites, thoracopods with natatory exopods, ventrally flexed abdomen, and caudal fan.
