lyriform organs: (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) In arachnids, a lyreshaped organ on the joints of the legs and other appendages, sterna of the cephalothorax and abdomen and on the sting of Scorpiones; thought to be chemoreceptors; also called slit sense organs.
