Hoyle's organ: (Mollusca: Cephalopoda) In embryonic Sepia, a distinct set of cells in an anchor-shaped complex at the site of the shell sac closure; a hatching gland that produces a proteolytic enzyme that dissolves the chorion and surrounding envelope.
