zygum (noun; plural zyga; Greek zygon, yoke): 1. (Arthropoda: Crustacea) In Ostracoda, a chitinous process of the male copulatory apparatus suspended in the posterior shell region by a system of chitinous rods, about which the peniferum arcs.

2. (Arthropoda: Insecta) In Scarabaeoidea larva, a convex cross bar forming the anterior margin of the haptomerum.
