pyllopod (noun; Greek pyle, gate; pous, foot): (Arthropoda: Crustacea) In gnathiidean Isopoda, the second thoracopod; fused to the head resulting in the appendages being second maxillipedes and in males are flat and cover the buccal area, but in females, a short palp with a large flat plate attached.
