plesiobiosis (noun; Greek plesios, near; biosis, manner of life): 1. A primitive form of association approaching symbiosis.

2. (Arthropoda: Insecta) Living in close proximity, i.e., compound nests of different species of Formicidae and Isoptera; rudimentary form of social symbiosis.
