pereon also pereion, peraeon (noun; Greek peraioun, to convey): 1. (Arthropoda: Crustacea) A thoracic region of Isopoda; anterior portion of the trunk bearing thoracopods, except for maxillipedal somites and appendages.

2. pereion (Arthropoda: Insecta) see prothorax.
