patagium (noun; plural patagia; Latin patagium, border): (Arthropoda: Insecta) 1. In Lepidoptera, a pair of articulated, thin, lobelike erectile expansions (overlapping plates) of the prothorax. 2. For Culicidae, see antepronotum.
