lamella (noun; plural lamellae; Latin lamella, small plate): 1. A thin plate or leaflike structure.

2. (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) A triangular plate on the promargin of the cheliceral fang furrow in some spiders.

3. (Mollusca: Gastropoda) Flared axial projection of the outer lip of the shell.
