frenum (noun; plural frenna; Latin frenum, bridle): 1. Any fold of skin or tissue supporting an organ.

2. (Arthropoda: Crustacea) Membranous bilateral fold of the carapace of barnacles that holds eggs.

3. (Arthropoda: Insecta) The frenulum.
