corniculus (noun; plural corniculi; Latin diminutive cornu, horn): 1. (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) In some mites, a horn-shaped infracapitular seta on the malapophysis.

2. (Arthropoda: Insecta) In Orthoptera, refers to the hardened tips of the dorsal and ventral valves of the ovipositer, used to dig holes in the ground for the deposition of eggs
