choriothete (noun; Greek chorion, membrane enclosing the fetus; thete, servant): (Arthropoda: Insecta) A muscular structure of cyclical development that adheres to the chorion of the egg of Glossina and the Pupipara, and by the actions of the muscles aids in the removal of the chorion.
