Remarks

This species was redescribed by Matsumura et al. (2011) who presumed Cirsium japonicum DC and Lema suffultum Matsum. (Asteraceae) to be its host plants. Here Cirsium japonicum (Figs 47–48) is confirmed as a host plant by field observations and laboratory rearing.

Europe, China, Mongolia, Korea, Taiwan (new record), Japan.
