Name

Buthus maroccanus Birula, 1903 – Wikispecies link – Pensoft Profile

Type material

3 M, F, syntypes (ZIN), Morocco; 1 specimen syntype (ZIN), locality unknown (Fet and Lowe 2000[18]).

Distribution

all known specimens have been captured in the Rabat Region (approx. 28.43°, -11.10°).

Remarks

it remains the only known Buthus species with a uniformly darkened body.
