Description

Female: Body spindle shaped, 154 long, shield 46 long, 46 wide, shield lobe present, shield with wax at central area, design without median line, admedian lines connected at base, with forked line at basal 3 / 5, diverging to lateral sides, submedian line absent; scapular tubercles set ahead of rear shield margin, setae (sc) 5 long, directed upward, Dt-Sr 10, Dt-Dt 22 apart; leg segments normal, fore tibial setae (1´) absent; coxal area smooth; 1 st coxal setae (1 b) 6 long, Ct 1 -Ct 1 9 apart, 2 nd coxal setae (1 a) 10 long, Ct 2 -Ct 2 8 apart, 3 rd coxal setae (2 a) 22 long, Ct 3 -Ct 3 22 apart, Ct 1 \Ct 2 11, Ct 1 -Ct 2 6, Ct 2 \Ct 3 16, Ct 2 -Ct 3 8; claw ending as knob; empodium divided, 4 rayed. Opisthosoma: dorsum with wax at med- and submedian ridges, median ridge shorter than submedian ridges, dorsally with about 43 rings, with dashed line microtuberculate at ridges, ventrally with about 76 microtuberculate rings; 1 st 3 dorsal annuli 7 long; lateral setae (c 2) 21 long, Lt-Lt 40 apart, Lt\Vt 1 42, Lt-Vt 1 25; 1 st ventral setae (d) 31 long, Vt 1 -Vt 1 29 apart, Vt 1 \Vt 2 39, Vt 1 -Vt 2 34; 2 nd ventral setae (e) 12 long, Vt 2 -Vt 2 14 apart, Vt 2 \Vt 3 37, Vt 2 -Vt 3 34; 3 rd ventral setae (f) 15 long, Vt 3 -Vt 3 18 apart; accessory setae (h 1) present. Epigynium: 20 wide, 13 long, with 2 rows of ridges, the first rank with transverse lines, the second rank with about 12 longitudinal ridges, genital setae (3 a) 12 long, Gt-Gt 13 apart. Materials Examined

Type data: Holotype Ψ, Taipei: Yangmingshan (670m; N 25 °09´E 121 ° 34´), 24 -Aug.- 1999, Huang & Wang; ex. Lindera communis Hemsl. (Lauraceae). (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 2 Ψ, data same as for holotype. Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed.

Discussion

Remarks: This new species is close to A. araucariae Flechtmann, 2000 by the shield design with admedian lines form a loop between dorsal tubercles and median line absent. This new species differs from A. araucariae by the following characters: opisthosomal dorsal ridges with spiny microtubercles, coverflap with 2 rows of ridges, the first rank with transverse line, the second rank with about 12 longitudinal ridges, and the 4 - rayed empodium.

Etymology

Etymology: The specific designation is derived from the specific name of the type host plant. PLATE3.Acaphyllisa communiae sp. nov. A, Dorsal view; B, Ventral view; Acaphyllisa duplicella sp. nov. C, Dorsal view; D, Ventral view.
