subapotorma (noun; Latin sub, under; Greek apo, from; tormos, socket): (Arthropoda: Insecta) In Scarabaeoidea larva, a heavily sclerotized process extending forward from the subtorma on each side mediad of the longitudinal row of inwardly directed, closely set, phobae of the hypopharynx.
