schizopeltid (noun; Greek schizein, to split; pelte, shield): (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) The prodorsal shield (peltidium) subdivided by one or more transverse scissures, composed of propeltidium, mesopeltidium and metapeltidium, or propeltidium and postpeltidium.
