teeth (noun; Anglo-Saxon toth, tooth): 1. Hardened growths on mandibles, maxillae or stomatal walls.

2. (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) Deep or very shallow indentations on the hydrothecal margins; peglike chitinous growths just inside the margins.

3. (Mollusca: Polyplacophora) Portions of the articulamentum between the slits; may be pectinated or propped (outside edges thickened), sharp and smooth.
