cryptocystidean (noun; Greek kryptos, hidden; kystis, bladder): (Bryozoa) Autozooids of anascan or ascophoran cheilostomates bearing frontal shields (cryptocysts) formed by calcification of the internal body walls grown into body cavities subparallel to and beneath the frontal walls.
