Monoplacophora also monoplacophorans (noun, plural; Greek monos, one; plax, flat plate; pherein, to carry): A class of Mollusca mostly extinct, with a limpet-like, cap-shaped, cone-shaped or spoon-shaped shell with serially paired muscle scars.
