I am a web developer at PubMed Central / National Center for Biotechnology Information / National Library of Medicine / U.S. National Institutes of Health. My areas of proficiency include XML, XSLT, XQuery, (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, Java, C, and C++.
I have a strong interest in open access publishing and open science, and especially in how crowd-sourcing and collaborative development might speed the transformation to new ways of disseminating scientific information. I started the JATSPAN (JATSPack Archive Network) site in hopes of lowering the barrier of customizing and extending the NLM/NISO Journal Article Tag Suite (also known as the NLM DTDs). (This idea hasn't quite gone viral, yet, though.)
