Diagnosis
The subspecies is characterized by its COI sequence, which distinguishes it from the nearest subspecies Trichosiopsis finjae finjae. The gonostylus of Tr. finjae anoukae appears to be a little thicker, a bit more parallel and the apical angle is less pronounced, but more rounded than in the nominotypical subspecies.
DNA Barcoding
The COI sequence is assigned to BIN BOLD:ACU4807 (average distance 0.44%, max. 0.15%, n=12, K2P: 1.77%).
Etymology
The subspecies is named after the Anouk Rulik, daughter of the diperist Björn Rulik, Bonn.
Discussion
Although the genetic distance between Tr. finjae finjae and Tr. finjae anoukae is smaller than the threshold of 2%, which is the thumb rule for a good barcoding gap, the distinction of two different subspecies is reasonable. The large number of barcoded specimens in both BINs and the very small genetic variation particularly in Tr. finjae anoukae are good arguments in favour of distinct taxa. Moreover, both subspecies seem to be more or less allopatric. In Scandinavia, only Tr. finjae finjae has been found, whereas in Southern Germany Tr. finjae anoukae is the dominant form.
Distribution
Germany.
