Discussion

By the wing venation and the structure of the gonostylus, Trichosiopsis elongatula is a typical member of the genus, although with a length of 2 mm quite small. It is one of the few representatives in the Neotropical region.

Etymology

lat. elongatus = prolonged. The name probably refers to the elongate shape of the gonostylus.
