Diagnosis

Trichosiopsis albescens is one of the smallest species in the genus. By the white body hairs, the apically rounded gonostylus and the bare posterior wing veins it resembles the species around Trichosiopsis nudinervis and Trichosiopsis truncata. The species is easily distinguished by the small size and the very short and stout awl-like setae.

Discussion

The species is currently only known by the holotype.

Etymology

lat. albescens = getting white; making reference to bright colour of the body ant the hairs.

Distribution

Russia[1].
