Notes
- the problems/errors with the NZIB list are as follows:
- the combination Neotrombicula hoplodactyla appears to be entirely spurious (and it is certainly not the original combination)
- the actual publication date of the Goff, Loomis & Ainsworth article is 1988, see ZooBank
- recognition of LEEUWENHOEKIIDAE as a distinct family, contra Shatrov & Kudryashova (2008)
- all the described species should be presumed endemic to N.Z.
