Materials Examined
Type material. Holotype, female, from Rosa sericea ssp. omeiensis (Rosaceae), Huayang, Shaanxi Province, China, 9 August 2005, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue and Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 6 females with the same data as holotype. Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf undersurface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology
Etymology. The specific designation sericeaomeiensis is from the host plant species name, sericea ssp. omeiensis. Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to R. roxburghis Xue, Song & Hong, 2006, but can be differentiated from the latter by dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin (dorsal annuli smooth in R. roxburghis), ventral annuli with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin (large, rough microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin in R. roxburghis), and scapular setae (sc) projecting forward (scapular setae projecting posterior in R. roxburghis).
