Type host: Brotogeris cyanoptera (Pelzeln) (Psittaciformes: Psittacidae). Type locality: Brasil.
Description
Redescription. FEMALE (holotype and 2paratypes). Gnathosoma. Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–6 chambers, each lateral branch with ill-visible borders between chambers. Movable cheliceral digit edentate on proximal end. Stylophore apunctate. Idiosoma. Propodonotal shield entire, punctate, slightly concave on anterior margin. Setae vi, ve and si strongly beaded. Setae c 1 and se situated at same transverse level. Two hysteronotal shields apunctate. Pygidial shield apunctate. Agenital and genital plates absent. Setae ag 2 short, situated posterior to setae ag 1. Pseudanal setae thin and minute. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Legs. Claws of legs III–IV equal in size. Measurements. Total body length 455–595. Length of stylophore 140–150. Lengths of setae: vi30, ve85, si100, se160–175, c 2 150–190; d 1 165, d 2 135–140, e 2 160–180, f 1 15–25, f 2 30–35, h 1 15, ps 1, ps 2 and g 1 5, ag 1 110, ag 2 5, ag 3 130–140, tc’III– IV35–40, tc” III–IV75, l’RIII25 –35, 3b 35, 3c75. Length ratios of setae: vi: ve: si1: 2.8: 3.3, d 1: d 2: e 2 1.2: 1: 1.3, f 1: f 2 1: 1.2–1.4, f 1: h 1 1.7: 1, ag 1: ag 2: ag 3> 20: 1:>20, 3b: 3 c1: 2, tc’III–IV: tc” III–IV1: 1.5–2. Pygidial shield apunctate. Two agenital plates apunctate, bearing bases of setae ag 1. All coxal fields apunctate. Measurements. Total body length 335. Lengths of setae: se50, c 2 45, c 1 55, h 2 15, ag 1 20, other setae vi, ve, si, d 1, d 2, e 2, f 2, ag 2 about 10.
Materials Examined
Type material examined. Female holotype, 2 female and 1 male paratypes from Brotogeris cyanoptera (Pelzeln) (Psittaciformes: Psittacidae), BRAZIL: Upper Amazonia, this bird died in the Zoo of Antwerp, 24 April 1966, coll. A. Fain, all material in RBINS.
Biology and Ecology
Host range. Monoxenous species associated with Brotogeris cyanoptera (Pelzeln) (Psittaciformes: Psittacidae) in Brazil (Fain et al. 2000).
