Introduction
- Ptinella pustulata was originally described, by Johnson (1982), from 5 specimens, 4 from the South Island of New Zealand, and one from subantarctic Campbell Island. No additional specimen records have been published. The species is fairly readily identified by the distinctly pustulate pronotum. The reticulation on the pronotum is somewhat uneven and weaker than in P. ferruginea.
