Name

Notes

  • this Australian endemic is adventive in New Zealand
  • it was first reported in New Zealand by Malipatil (1977: 179), based on specimens collected in 1976 at Percy Scenic Reserve, near Petone, Wellington (WN) (MONZ). Nothing more has been published, and these details were simply repeated by Larivière & Larochelle (2004: 126), in their catalogue of the New Zealand Heteroptera.
  • a few years ago, I found in unsorted NZAC Heteroptera two specimens collected in 1974 at Lynfield, Auckland (AK) - these are probably the true earliest N.Z. record in collections
  • I have collected a good series of this species in leaf litter under a small stand of eucalypts in Auckland Domain (see image)
