Notes

• the only Dendrocerus reported from New Zealand in the published literature are the three named species D. aphidum, D. carpenteri and D. laticeps, all adventive
• none of these three species have males with branched antennae
• I have seen 3 male specimens, all from the Auckland City area (Dingle Dell, Auckland Domain, Tamaki Campus), with branched antennae (see fig. 1 for a photo of the Tamaki Campus specimen), thus representing a fourth species, as yet unidentified
