Type species
Malvernia varicornis Jacoby 1899b[1]: 347 (KwaZulu-Natal, Malvern), designation by monotypy.
Distribution
Malawi and the Republic of South Africa (Eastern Cape Province, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and North-West Province) (Fig. 335).
Ecology
Malvernia varicornis has been collected on the flowers of Burchellia bubalina (L. f.) Simms (Rubiaceae) (Biondi 1998a[2]).
Notes
Two known species.
