Cultivated soils, grasslands (pastures, meadows), less abundant in deciduous forests. Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine.
Distribution
Distribution in Croatia. The most common anecic species in the Continental region, found in the Alpine region as well but lacking from the Mediterranean region. Zicsi (1968): Maksimir; Šapkarev (1972, 1979): Zagreb, Novska, Zaprešić; Jelić (1985): Sakadaško jezero, Podunavlje; Hackenberger: Stara Drava (Osijek), Slavonski Brod, Donji Miholjac, Osijek, Turkovići, Potok Musulinski, Bjelsko.
Discussion
Remark. Based on DNA sequences, James et al. (2010) separated L. terrestris and L. herculeus Savigny, 1826, in synonymy since Michaelsen (1900). L. terrestris sensu lato includes both nominal species.
