Taxonavigation

Genus: Lumbricus

Name

Lumbricus terrestris Linnaeus, 1758Wikispecies linkPensoft Profile

  • Lumbricus terrestris Kutuzović, Davorka Hackenberger, 2013, Zootaxa 3710: 17-17.

Description

1991Lumbricus terrestris: Mršić, Acad. Sci. Art. Slov. (Hist. Nat.), 31: 481. 2003Lumbricus terrestris: Csuzdi & Zicsi, Pedozool. Hung., 1: 188. Ecological category. Anecic. Habitat. Cultivated soils, grasslands (pastures, meadows), less abundant in deciduous forests. Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine.

Distribution

Distribution in Croatia. The most common anecic species in the Continental region, found in the Alpine region as well but lacking from the Mediterranean region. Zicsi (1968): Maksimir; Šapkarev (1972, 1979): Zagreb, Novska, Zaprešić; Jelić (1985): Sakadaško jezero, Podunavlje; Hackenberger: Stara Drava (Osijek), Slavonski Brod, Donji Miholjac, Osijek, Turkovići, Potok Musulinski, Bjelsko.

Discussion

Remark. Based on DNA sequences, James et al. (2010) separated L. terrestris and L. herculeus Savigny, 1826, in synonymy since Michaelsen (1900). L. terrestris sensu lato includes both nominal species.
