Diagnosis
Diagnosis. FEMALE. The pygidium evenly convex with two longitudinal contiguous carinae not connected to the apex, yellow-orange antenna, dorsum of pronotum with dense short pale golden setae and mesonotum with short black setae medially, distinguish this species from Frigitilla simulatrix (pygidium with a single median longitudinal carina approaching the apex, antenna black or dark brown, and dorsum of pronotum and mesonotum with sparse whitish setae). MALE unknown.
Description
Description. FEMALE (holotype). Body length 7.2 mm. Color. Integument of head, mesosoma and metasoma black, except antenna yellow-orange, mandible yellow-orange with tip black, legs with coxae, trochanters and femora orange-red, tibiae and tarsi fuscous, tibial spurs brownish-white, T2 with two sub-rounded integumental yellow maculae. Head with pale golden to silvery setae, dense on vertex, frons and clypeus, sparse elsewhere, but setae dark behind eye; pronotum totally, mesonotum and metanotum laterally with dense short pale golden setae and sparse long black setae; mesonotum and metanotum discal area with sparse short black setae intermixed with few pale setae; mesopleuron, metapleuron and propodeum with dense short and sparse long pale golden setae; T1 clothed with decumbent pale golden setae and interspersed erect white setae; T2 clothed with black erect and appressed setae between yellow maculae and along apical margin, lateral thirds and integumental maculae with sparse pale golden setae; T3–6 clothed with decumbent pale golden setae and interspersed erect dark brown and white setae; S1–6 mostly clothed with sparse erect white setae. Head. Subquadrate, vertex, frons and gena with medium-sized punctures, some confluent; antennal tubercle almost smooth, with few micropunctures; eye almost circular, strongly projecting, distance between posterior margin of eye and postero-lateral angle of head about 0.49 × maximum diameter of eye; antennal scrobe without carina; strong genal carina extending anteriorly almost to hypostomal carina and postero-laterally to vertex; clypeus with transverse carina above short transverse concave area; antenna slender, first flagellomere 1.1 × as long as second; mandible bidentate apically, the preapical inner tooth very small, simple beneath without any tooth or process. Mesosoma,1.4 × as long as wide (excluding prothoracic collar); widest at pronotum, narrowing gradually to propodeum; dorsolateral margin rounded, without teeth; dorsally with large deep punctures, some punctures longitudinally irregular and confluent; mesopleuron and metapleuron micropunctate, mesopleural ridge coarsely punctate; scutellar scale transverse, highly raised and lamellate, with acutely truncate elevation antero-lateral to it. Metasoma. T1 narrow and briefly petiolate but mainly parallel-sided, 0.36 × as long as wide, 0.4 × as wide as T2, with large punctures; T2 dorsomedially flattened, mostly with large, dense, contiguous punctures, few micropunctures near posterior margin; T3–T5 with mediumsized punctures; T6 (pygidium) evenly convex and medially fairly smooth with two longitudinal contiguous carinae not reaching the apex, laterally densely punctate; S1 mostly smooth but with a low median-longitudinal keel; S2 mostly with large dense punctures, few micropunctures near posterior margin; S3–S5 on basal halves with large deep punctures, apical halves with micropunctures; S6 mostly with small dense punctures.
MALE unknown.

Discussion
Comments. There is almost no variation in body length, from 7.1 mm to 7.5 mm; also, the coloration is very similar in all the specimens examined.
Distribution
Distribution.Panama (Darién Province); first record of the genus for Panama. This new species represents the northernmost distribution record for Frigitilla.
Etymology
Etymology. The species is named in reference to the country from which the type series was collected, used here as an adjective in the nominative case.
