Dry head (Fusarium)
From Species-ID
The term dry head is used in the genus Fusarium for droplets of conidia formed by a conidiogeneous cell in the aerial mycelium, which appear more or less dry because the shape of the conidia is visible in the outline of the droplet, giving it a rough shape. A dry head usually still contains a certain amount of water keeping the conidia attached to each other.
