Description
Opisthosoma: arched, dorsal annuli with about 51 annuli, first 3 dorsal annuli 7 long; ventral annuli with about 68 microtuberculate annuli; lateral tubercle and setae absent, 1 st ventral setae (d) 9 long, Vt 1 Vt 1 45 apart; Vt 1 \Vt 2 53, Vt 1 Vt 2 41; 2 nd ventral setae (e) 7 long; Vt 2 Vt 2 25 apart, Vt 2 \Vt 3 52, Vt 2 Vt 3 45; 3 rd ventral setae (f) 19 long, Vt 3 Vt 3 28 apart; accessory setae (h 1) present. Epigynium: 27 wide, 19 long, smooth, genital setae (3 a) 6 long, GtGt 20 apart. Male: 169 long, shield 32 long, 66 wide, DtDt 20; genitalia 18 wide, 8 long, setae 6 long, GtGt 18 apart. Type data: Holotype female, NANTOU: Renai, 16 Apr. 2003, K. W.Huang; ex Trochodendron aralioides S. et Z. (Trochodendraceae). (deposited at NMNS). Paratypes, 13 females, 3 males data same as for holotype; 2 females, TAICHUNG, Hoping, 11 June 1988; 5 females, NANTOU: Renai, 29 Aug. 1990, K. W. Huang; 6 females, NANTOU:Renai, 25 Jan. 1991, K. W. Huang; 2 females, HUALIEN:Sioulin, 29 Jan. 1991, K. W. Huang; 2 females, TAIPEI: Yangmingshan, 22 Jan. 1998, K. W. Huang; 3 females, KAOHSIUNG: Taoyuan, 2005 Apr. 2005; 2 females, TAOYUAN: Fushing, 6 June 2005. Relation to host: A vagrant on the lower leaf surface. No apparent damage was observed. Note: This new species is close to D. formosanus Huang, 2005 but differs in the presence of the scapular tubercle, and the 5 rayed empodium.
