Materials Examined

Type material. Holotype, female, from Schefflera odorata (Blanco) Merr. & Rolfe (Araliaceae), Campus of Yunnan Agricultural University, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China, 14 October 2010, coll. Jia Luo, deposited as a slide mounted specimen in the Arthropod/Mite Collection of the Department of Entomology, Nanjing Agricultural University (NJAU), Jiangsu Province, China. Paratypes, 22 females on 10 slides, with the same data as the holotype; 12 females on 5 slides in the Arthropod/Mite Collection, College of Plant Protection, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FJAU), Fujian Province, China. Relation to host. Large yellow spots present on the upper leaf surface. Erinea present underneath the leaves (Figs. 4 & 5).

Etymology

Etymology. The specific designation kunmingensis is derived from the place name, Kunming City, where the new species was collected. Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to Calepitrimerus octophyllaus Huang & Wang 2004 which was collected from Schefflera octophylla (Lour.) Harms, but can be differentiated from the latter by the appearance of the prodorsal shield with admedian and submedian lines (prodorsal shield without admedian and submedian lines in C. octophyllaus), empodium 4 -rayed (empodium 6 -rayed in C. octophyllaus), coxal plates with granules (coxal plates smooth in C. octophyllaus).
