Remarks
Martens (1867)[1] based his description on one shell with a damaged aperture (“Ein Exemplar mit verletzten Mündung im zoologischen Museum in Berlin”), which was said to have been collected by Kähne near Bahia. The label is lost, but the damaged specimen undoubtedly is the shell described by Martens and is thus the holotype. The current systematic position is after Simone (2006[2]: 134), who has figured a non-type specimen from the ZMB collection.
Current systematic position
Bulimulidae, Cochlorina involuta (Martens, 1867).
