  • Agdistis wolframi Kovtunovich, Vasily, 2015, Zootaxa 4033: 558-560.

Materials Examined

Type material. Holotype ♂ (MFN 201529), Rep. S. Africa, Western Cape, Rocherpan N.R., 20–21.xi. 2008, LF, Ebert, Mey & Khne. Paratypes:1 ♂1 ♀, same data as holotype. External characters. Basal and middle part of wing with two small spots. Hindwing grey, anal part darkened at distal margin. Fringe of both wings pale grey.

Description

Male genitalia. Valvae symmetrical, narrow, of equal width throughout. Base of valve from below with saccular mushroom-like processes, “heads of which covered with fine acicular hairs. Costal processes poorly expressed, short and ribbon-like. Uncus formed as two narrow distinct processes. Sternum VIII with deep oval notch. Phallus slightly arched, its length equal to that of the valvae. Female genitalia. Apophyses posteriores short, thin, apophyses anteriores rather long, slightly sinuous. Antrum sclerotized, tubular, with notch distally. Ductus bursae thin, membranous.

Diagnosis

It differs from A. infumata by the smooth distal margin of the valva, deep oval notch of sternum VIII and the form of the phallus. It differs from A. unguica by the short ribbon-like costal processes, shorter uncus and a deeper notch of sternum VIII.

Distribution

Distribution.Republic of South Africa (Western Cape). Flight period. November.

Etymology
