Distribution in the area
Kura and Aras River drainages in northeastern Turkey.
Note
Both molecular (Perea et al. 2010[1]) and morphologic (Küçük et al. 2014[2]) studies suggested the synonymization of the genus Acanthalburnus with Acanthobrama. Therefore, this species is now under the genus Acanthobrama.
