Other material studied
Finland: 3 ♂, Ta, Urjala, Kivijäri Nature reserve, Kalkkimäki; deciduous forest with Populus tremula, Tilia cordata and Acer platanoides, Malaise trap, Salmela & Härma, 3.6.-06.07.2003, MZH 9332/9333, PKHH 8082 [as Leptosciarella subcoarctata in Vilkamaa et al. (2007)[1]: 228];
Norway: 3 ♂, Sogn og Fjordane, Lærdal, Eråksdalen, Birkenwald und Almvegetation, sweep netting, Heller, 04.06.2014, PKHH 8440.
Diagnosis
The subspecies is characterized by its COI sequence and by its Palaearctic distribution, which distinguishes it from the Nearctic Trichosiopsis transatlantica cisatlantica.
DNA Barcoding
The COI sequence is assigned to BIN BOLD:ACC2550 (average distance 0.09%, max. 0.36%, n=12, K2P: 3.91%).
Discussion
The Finnish specimens (figs 8–14), although not barcoded, were assigned to the nominotypical subspecies, because of their Palaearctic provenance. They do not belong to Trichosiopsis subcoarctata because the antennae are much longer.
Distribution
Finland, Norway.
