The Aquaeliciini are a group of Derbidae found in Africa which are characterized by:
- The hindwings having a stridulatory plate with a convex outer margin.
- The elongated forewings having a closed clavus, that is the claval vein reaches the hind margin.
- The forewings having a branched CuA vein which merges again forming an anterior cubital area with one or more cells.
- The clavus vein Pcu is thickened and has numerous sensory pits.
