The special media repository is a place for images that are licensed to the project by special permission, but which may not be generally available under a creative commons license. Examples are images from prior publication, for which a republication permission exists which does not allow further license, usage of logos of associated projects, etc.

The media content is therefore available under specific and limited licenses as explicitly stated on the media description page. All media are fully copyrighted and no general license may be assumed. However, title, author, and other metadata of images as far as expressed on the media description wiki page may be harvested for indexing purposes.
