This shared media repository is used by projects running on the biowikifarm for non-openly licensed materials, i.e. media licensed to the project under special permission instead of an open-source or creative commons license.
In general it is a project aim to use open and reusable content. However, in some cases this is not possible. To allow such media to be still managed and displayed the same as normal media, this special repository was made available.
Please prefer uploading files to Open Media whenever possible!
