This is a screenshot of a Wiktionary web page. Wiktionary text is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). The MediaWiki software that runs Wiktionary is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The Wiktionary logo (if it appears in this screenshot) has not been released under any free license. Note on licenses: Please note that the GFDL is only for text documentations or other forms of text and their derivatives, while software and its derivatives, text, and other types of works may use the GPL. The actual contents of Wikiquote are licensed under the GFDL, but the interface design of Wiktionary and all other portions of the MediaWiki software are licensed under the GPL. As such, portions of this screenshot may be licensed under two separate licenses. The GPL and GFDL are not the same license; they are only connected through the Free Software Foundation, the creator of the licenses. Moreover, quotations can be (and usually are) hard copyrighted and included for fair use. |
