This template allows to specify a range of non-trivial date notations in a format that is localizable.

Usage

Parameters

Parameter name	Description	Default value	required or optional?
parameter #1 (1)	type of date notation. See examples below for list of allowed options. Pages using incorrect option will be added to Category:Pages using Other date template with incorrect parameter.	empty	required
parameter #2 (2)	a date in ISO 8601 format "YYYY-MM-DD", or "YYYY-MM", or "YYYY", e.g. "2006-01-15" for "15 January 2006".	empty	required

Localization

To add your language to the list of languages supported by this template, please edit the template and add a row to the "{{LangSwitch|}}" construct. It takes the form "|xx=Your translation" (xx being the code of your language) Other date template supports at the moment: Danish, English, Estonian, German, Low German, Polish, Romanian, Spanish, and Swedish languages. Translations into other languages are needed. Since the template is protected new translations have to be added by administrators. Please use the talk page to request additions to the template. In case of large additions, like new language, the easiest way is to copy current {{Other date}} to {{Other date/sandbox}}, do changer there and than request coping content of {{Other date/sandbox}} to {{Other date}}.
