Remarks
Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) beringiensis may be no more than a small form of Metriocnemus (Metriocnemus) fuscipes (Meigen, 1818) differing in having a strongly reduced or absent anal point and slightly fewer setae on squama. Chinese specimens have fewer setae (R with 18–28, R1 with 18–20, R4+5 with 15–38 setae) on the wing than Norwegian specimens (R with 39–69, 55, R1 with 27–47, 36, R4+5 with 37–81, 59 setae) (Sæther 1995[1]).
Distribution
The species is previously recorded from the Nearctic and Palaearctic regions (Ashe and O’Connor 2012[2]). In China it was collected in Tibet in Oriental China for first time.
